The Aim of Blackjack

Blackjack is not rocket science. The main idea of the game is to reach 21 and beat the dealer; in essence, you will be playing against the dealer who too will be looking to get Blackjack or 21.

Betting and Playing

After you place your bet, you will be dealt two cards facing up; the dealer will deal himself two cards as well, but only one will be face up. You will have three choices to make after you receive your cards: Stand, Hit or Split. To Stand means that you won't be dealt any additional cards. If you choose to Hit, the dealer will deal you another card; if the sum of the cards exceeds 21, you are bust and will lose your bet. You will be permitted to hit as many times as you wish, so long you don't exceed 21. If two cards of the same value are dealt to you, you will be given the option to Split, which means that you will effectively be playing two hands at once.

Card Values

The card values in Blackjack are also very easy to learn. Tens, Jacks, Queens and Kings have a value of 10 points. The Ace will be either 1 or 11 and every other card will have its own corresponding value - for example, a 5 will carry five points and a 7 seven points.

Insurance is offered to the player if the dealer's card happens to be an Ace. The insurance bet is independent to any other bet.
